Seeing is Believing

The Feburary 2011 National Geographic has some gorgeous photos of the catacombs under Paris. So cool to see the places Andi and Dante visited in Jennifer Donnelly's book Revolution (one of our new books - check the cart by the circulation counter). The article is very good and the photos show the graffiti and a dance party, but also the stacks of bones (skulls, tibias, femurs) that have been arranged to look almost like a mosaic. Greusome artistry! There's a map of of the underground that would have come in handy for Andi. There's also a photo of the "beach" where one of the most important moments of the story takes place. I was so excited to see this photo essay. This copy of National Geographic is on display now in the Glendale library. Take a look and read the book.

Library Resources

What do you think of the resources that are available in the Glendale library? What resources do you like? What would you like to see added?

Second Semester Student Mentees

Welcome to all of our second semester library workers. We're thrilled to have your help and look forward to the having you work with us in the library!

Student Library Workers

Mrs. Foltz and I want to thank all of our first semester student library workers for all their help. Not only were they badge makers extraordinaire, they also kept the daily library operations running smoothly, and were a lot of fun to have around every day.

2011-2012 Gateways Announced

The list of Gateway book nominees for next school year has just been announced. Why not stop by the library and check one of them out? You can get a head start on next year's assignments early!

We love getting ideas about books you would like to see purchased for the GHS library. Unfortunately, we have used our budget for this school year. However, we'll keep all your suggestions and try to include them in our purchases next school year.
